WARU film screening
Tuesday 16th January 2018 at 6.30pm
Helen Smith Community Meeting Room, Pātaka Art + Museum, Porirua

In conjunction with the Hine Pae Kura exhibition at our Bottle Creek Community Gallery, we will be offering a free screening of the 2017 feature film Waru. The film was written and directed by eight Māori women filmmakers, who each developed a 10miin section. We are fortunate to host one of the eight writers and co-directors of Waru, Briar Grace-Smith, who will introduce the film. Both the Hine Pae Kura exhibition and the film highlight the empowering value of Māori women working collaboratively. We will be collecting for the Porirua Womens Refuge, so come and join us on Tuesday 16th of January at 6.30pm in the Helen Smith Community Meeting room.
