Peace Talks at Pātaka

In light of recent world events we think it is time to focus on what peace means to us all. National Poetry Slam winner and international performer Te Kahu Rolleston will be hitting us with his interpretation of peace through his powerful spoken word art. We are also excited to have Kiri Pa’u, a group of graduates from Whitireia Performing Arts, who will be showcasing their unique whakaaro through contemporary dance. Join in the discussion on what peace means to you.

To coincide with the marvellous Mosaic Exhibition at Pataka, a weekend mosaic making workshop will be run by international mosaic artist Rachel Silver of Silver Mosaics.

Porirua Day

Saturday 3 October 11am – 3pm

Porirua was declared a city in October 1965, so we are having a party at Pātaka to celebrate. It’s also the opening day of our new exhibition, Made in Porirua, so come and join in the celebrations – it’s sure to be a blast from the past! Lots of FREE activities for the whole family including a Flash Back in Fashion, Know your City Quiz, Put Yourself in the Picture and Dance for Your City.
