WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR
17 November 2012 – 27 January 2013

This powerful collection of pictures contains extraordinary action shots, memorable underwater images, dramatic landscapes and unforgettable environmental reportage. Each stunning photograph is accompanied by an extended caption that explains where and how it was taken. Together the images are a reminder of the splendor, drama and variety of life on Earth.

The photographs represent the work of 79 photographers from 24 countries. They were selected from 41,000 entries, representing 95 countries, and chosen by an international panel of judges for their artistic merit, but the range of natural subjects represented is huge and the styles diverse.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year is co-owned by the Natural History Museum and BBC Wildlife Magazine
